We photographed our last session of 2009 just before the holidays and hit some local spots with Yvette and Craig. They wanted to do a shoot in some of the familiar urban districts that they frequented here on the west side. I’m guessing the fact that the couple has been in a long term relationship for quite a while helped their ease in front of the camera because whether it was playful or romantic they looked natural together. They found some really cool backdrops too…the slick design of the sequin colored black and white boutique store, the historic hotel in downtown Culver City and the movie marquee. Some of my favorites though, came from the set in a walkway we discovered in between a couple of stores, perfect for ‘textured’ Art Pix.

We’re a little late in sharing this but we got a couple of nods of recognition last month. It was a great way to close our 2nd year in the wedding photography business, which between weddings and engagements, includes almost 100 photo sessions since starting our little biz.
Best of Project Wedding 2008

WPJA Q3 Placement
Another cool mention, one of the images I shot at Andrea & Bob’s Malibu wedding received 13th placement in the ‘Silhouettes and Shadows’ category of the 3rd Quarter WPJA Contest. I don’t enter too many contests, so considering the number of entrants from around the globe it was pretty cool to make it in the top 20 for one of the categories. Honestly, I think what really makes this image is the adoring and loving look Bob is giving his new bride just before their toast!
