Field of Dreams : Engagement Session

A couple of weeks ago we headed to downtown LA to photograph Julia & Justin’s ePix. When we first met the couple earlier this year, they saw one of our signature ‘train shots’ taken at Union Station and they wanted one of their own. The couple also had mentioned that they liked nature & organic settings, so Mike and I drove out to the area early on the day of their session, determined to find a spot with 3 main ingredients: lots of greenery, tall flowers and golden sunlight.

It took a while, but we finally found the perfect place, as a matter of fact, I’m kind of embarrassed to admit that we were so excited to find the park that Mike & I high fived each other because we knew it was going to be an awesome session. And to top it off, Julia & Justin were the perfect couple for the location. They ran in the fields, shared hugs, laughter and plenty of intimate moments and were completely comfortable with each other in front of the camera!

Check out some of our favs below and in the SLIDESHOW.

This next one is going to make a perfect studio sample for our new panorama art canvas products.

Vegas Shoot

We thought we’d share a few more of our favs from the model shoot we set up in Las Vegas last month. The great thing about these shoots is that we get to try out techniques with new equipment so before using it at clients weddings. It’s also fun to try new poses and processing techniques.

I’m also quite proud of myself, I made the birdcage veil (shown in the first set) for the shoot the night before we left for the trip. Basic ingredients: Russian netting and feathers found at California Millinery Supply in Downtown Los Angeles. Clear hair combs and flowers at Michaels, needle & thread and most importantly…lots of patience! :)
