We photographed Anna and Michael’s engagement PIX at Santa Monica Pier a couple of weeks ago. It turned out to be perfect weather and between their playful laughs and quiet intimate moments, their chemistry together shined. After taking advantage of the geometric shapes, cool linear walkways and stairways streetside, we headed to the sand to catch the sunset. The sky was vibrantly lit and made an awesome backdrop for silhouette shots. After the sun went down, the cold quickly set in but Anna and Michael were real troopers. They ventured a bit into the water and even stuck around for some dusk shots underneath the pier and of course, how could we not finish with the neon lights of the ferris wheel!

Gina and I were looking forward to Jackie and Roger’s downtown engagement shoot because we were going to take pictures at the historic Bradbury Building, a place we had been wanting to shoot at for a long time. Jackie and Roger’s style and attire was perfectly suited for the location and the glazed brick wall, wooden staircases and soft mood lighting from the huge skylight made for some romantic and dramatic shots.
Afterward, we headed to one of our favorite locations, a flower field in the city. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect since the flowers are only in bloom for a month or so and Jackie and Roger took full advantage of the setting as they hung out in the fields sharing laughs and hugs. We finished the shoot in front of a colorful graffiti wall where I had to dodge some cars to get just the right angle from the street
