Since Brandon and Naomi are getting married in a beautiful organic natural setting this summer, they wanted some engagement photos with an urban touch and requested a shoot at Pasadena city hall last month. We ran into perfect lighting as the warm sun hit the white columns and architecture, working together like one big giant reflector. This allowed me to capture plenty of variety and combined with their fun and playful interaction (from Karate chops and high jumps to tough guy stances with faces full of attitude) we got tons of awesome images. They’re the perfect example of what engagement sessions are all about…having fun and being yourself!

A few weeks ago, on a perfect warm and sunny day, I photographed Heather and Peter’s engagement session in San Juan Capistrano. We started at the gorgeous mission and finished up in a colorful, hillside flower field. The couple couldn’t have been more fun to shoot. Heather had done plenty of preparation between her choice location, outfits and even her ease in front of the camera (the word ‘fierce’ comes to mind..she could pose with the best of supermodels!) and their comfortable and intimate interaction allowed me to capture some awesome images.
